Theatre Support Volunteer Opportunities

Front of House:  What a great way to meet new people, hang out at the theatre and see the shows for free.  All we need from you is dedication and a friendly smile.

• House Manager:  You will manage the front of house and the front of house volunteers during the entire run of the production.  You will work closely with the volunteer coordinator, stage manager and box office manager.  You will be responsible for training the wine volunteers and maintaining the front of house appearance.  You are the Ambassador of TAG.  The House Manager will need to be available for the entire run of the show including any preview shows.  HM will receive 2 complimentary tickets to the current show in addition to seeing the show free as a “front of house” volunteer.  (HM role can be shared with another person if necessary.)

• Wine Bar:   If you work the door you get to greet the guests as they arrive.  If you work the wine bar, you get to give the guests some “spirit” before the show and during intermission.  Either way, you get to see a fantastic show for free and meet some great people.

Theatre Support:  TAG has many exciting opportunities allowing folks to be a part of the theatre world.  With the diverse talents of our volunteers, we are sure we can fit everyone in a place or in places they will enjoy.

Here is a list of opportunities we have available:

• Office support staff – help those of us in the office get organized. Great for the occasional volunteer.

• Volunteer Coordinator Assistance – Help maintaining database, follow-up with volunteers and brainstorm exciting new ideas for recruiting new volunteers and creating fun activities for current ones.

• Helpers for Various Events – we have many events through out the year and we can always use help setting up, breaking down and making sure everyone is having fun including you.

• Ambassadors of TAG – help promote TAG by passing out fliers, hanging posters, Twittering, posting on Facebook and Myspace or even offering any connections you may have to announce our shows.

There are other opportunities to support our theatre.  If you can think of more ways, let us know.

Pre Opening and Post Closing  (POPC):  There is a lot of effort that goes into getting ready for the opening of a production.  There’s even more after the production closes.  We always need A LOT of help with the POPC.  We will have the dates of the POPC for each show on the volunteer page.  We will also shoot reminder emails.  If you are able and interested, just show up.  There will be food.

Spring Cleaning:  Each Spring we go through our “stuff” and, quite simply, we clean.  We reorganize, get rid of things we do not need, place things in its proper place and socialize.  It’s actually quite fun.  Help is always needed and it’s a great way to meet new people.  Look out for dates and an email reminder.
