TAG's Young Playwright Festival Information

1.    All plays will be adjudicated for selection to be entered in the National                    Competition.
2.    One play will be entered in the National Competition.
3.    All plays will be  considered for production in the Festival.
4.    A selection committee will determine how many and which plays will be                included in the festival.
2.    Notifications of the plays selected for the Festival will be made by early                May.
3.    Under the guidance of the Producer and the Production Manager, each play         selected for production will choose a student director and an adult advisor.
4.    Casting call and auditions will be held at the TAG Theatre in June.
5.    Playwrights are encouraged to be involved in their own production in                     whatever phase of the production process which they have strength and/or         show interest.
6.    Rehearsals and workshops will begin at the TAG Theatre on July 12th,                 2010.
7.    Set building, costuming, props, theatre maintenance, publicity,                                 media and acting workshops will be held at various times during the day               and in the evenings as needed and by request from July 12th until the                   opening of the Festival.
8.    TAG experts and personnel will provide the workshops.
9.    The Festival will open August 20, 2010 and run for as many as 15                           performances.
10.  The number of plays selected to be included in the festival will                                 determine the length of the festival. 
11.  Expertise in such areas as auditions, direction, publicity and                                     production pieces such as sets, blocking, lighting, costumes,                                     reservations, door etc will be provided by Brad Powell, Laurie                                Tanoura & other TAG personnel.
