"No one can accuse The Actors' Group of playing it safe with the works it chooses to present or in the way it stages them." - John Berger, HONOLULU STAR-BULLETIN

"The Actors' Group . . . has stubbornly survived as a small performance group by choosing plays that are often difficult and provocative."

SEVEN GUITARS
A drama by August Wilson
directed by Frankie Enos
FEB 10 - 26, 2012
TAG presents the fifth in August Wilson's decade by decade exploration of the black experience in America.  Seven Guitars is part bawdy comedy, part mystery, and part dark elegy. In Pittsburgh’s Hill District in 1948, an aspiring blues musician returns home for the woman he loves, an ailing old man hopes for an heir to carry on his name, and three women cope with disappointment and betrayal. The play's recurring theme is the African-American male's fight for his own humanity, the ability to stand fast and not be broken, and the resiliency of the human spirit.
